Isn’t this Over the Top? Nightclubs for Overweight People?

Honestly I’m not sure whether to be sickened by this or to applaud this. On the one hand you have the nice point of view. People should be proud of who they are and why not have clubs for overweight folks? It’s a great forum to meet other people with weight problems. You can just have fun!
And then there’s the reality site. Having clubs like these only perpetuates obesity in America. Saying that obesity is fine is not cool. And to have clubs promoting this lifestyle? Not good.
Then again if you have a fetish for this stuff, these pictures will be enjoyable for you

Even More Uncoachable Stuff

Why is it over the top to offer a social opportunity to a category of people who are generally shunned at most other social opportunities? Have you ever accompanied an “over weight” person to a regular nightclub? Oh, what fun they have being completely ignored by all the shallow desperate inebriates.
One of the very last socially acceptable forms of bigotry in the United States is the profound prejudice against overweight people. We are so obsessed with superficial image, with being skinny and being with skinny people that we feel fully justified, if not compelled, to be a society of raging asshats when it comes to weight “issues.” It’s perfectly acceptable for some emaciated, insecure, teenager to layer on the make-up with a garden trowel, spend thousands on an absurd pair of bolt-on chesticles, and wave her skeleton in everyone’s face, but God forbid she’s carrying a few extra pounds anywhere in public, she becomes the automatic object of prejudice. Men don’t fare any better.
But hey, thanks for adding to the social burden for non-skeletons.
I wonder if it isn’t over the top to have nightclubs for the exclusive pleasure of venal, self-involved, insecure, superficial, bigoted, hypocritical, douche-bags? But then, that would be most nightclubs now wouldn’t it?
