A Maine couple has taken the crown in the North American Wife Carrying Championship over a course that featured a muddy water hole and two log obstacles.

Dave and Lacey Castro of Lewiston came in first among 41 teams to win Saturday’s competition at Sunday River ski resort in Newry. They covered the 278-yard course in 54.45 seconds.

For their effort, the couple won 97-pound Lacey Castro’s weight in beer and five times her weight in cash — $485

A big congratulations to the Castros and more importantly to all the men that managed to have their wives’ heads at their crotches during important times of the race.  It’s not often you get to see gratuitous shots of heads bobbing up and down in full mud gear.

I’m pretty sure I will have to make the trip up to Maine next year to compete.  If these pictures are any indication, I’m going to have to make an appearance.

There was absolutely no place on the web to find the homepage of the Red Army basketball club in Russia.  So if you want European Basketball then you’ll have to settle for Eurobasket.  However, thanks to the folks at English Russia, I got a chance to see all that is the Russian cheerleader.

I mean they’re not all that different than the ones we got here.  However, there’s one element that I was thinking about that made me kind of mushy inside.  You have to figure that most of these women would do anything to move to the U.S. right?

Just get me their email addresses and it’s time to line up at the alter for a new Russian bride!

First of all I wouldn’t mess with any dog let alone a Police Dog.    Traditionally police dogs are used to apprehend suspects or chase them in case the cop is a complete fat ass and can’t get them him or herself (I would imagine this to be the case quite often here in New York).   In other cases police dogs are used to detect drugs and other illegal substances with an odor.

Police dogs are tough as nails and are trained to kill.  Like any other military personnel you do not want to mess with these guys when they get pissed.

This weird festival takes place every year in northern Spanish Basque village of Lekeitio. In this Spanish Fiesta brave contestants have to wrench the head off a goose while being plunged into the water.

Geese are strung up on a wire, above the town’s harbor, as young men approach in boats and try to grab them. They are then lifted up into the air and plunged into the water repeatedly, until they pull the head off the goose or fall into the water

What’s even weirder is that in the old days the Geese used to be alive, whereas today they’re dead.  Why can’t the U.S. do anything like this?  What do we have?  St. Patrick’s day with drunk cops in NYC?

Gay Pride parade?  Where’s our sense of weirdness with animals and fruits and stuff?

Other than the cheerleaders,  I’m not all that interested in College Football.  Nothing against the sport, it’s just that I prefer watching players at the highest skill level.   And that would be the NFL.  And yes, I can write 6 pages describing why.

And don’t get me wrong.  College sports are very exciting.  I’m just more prone to pro sports.  But if there’s a reason to watch the NCAA this year?  It’s to see dudes like this….

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the statistics of Amanda Maray shall we?  She’s 5’5 and weighs 105 lbs.  That’s the first stat that jumps out at me.  How about stat number 2?   She’s a 34D-23-33.  Yes, a 34D on a 105 lb frame.  And third?    Her heritage includes Polish and Cherokee Indian.

What are the odds of a Cherokee Indian who can carry implants like that on a frame like that?  Amanda is definitely one of the rarest and most special creatures I’ve had on this site.

She’s also a human too.  She has feelings and everything.  Wow.
