The Funniest Moments From Boogie Nights
I consider Boogie Nights to be one of my favorite movies. It doesn’t mean that I’ve seen it 100 times, nor would I necessarily want to. But I have to admit that from beginning to end, this movie simply rules. Honestly there isn’t one moment in this film that isn’t worth watching. And considering it’s well over 2 hours, that’s pretty impressive.
Also, for a movie that’s got such great drama, you know because of the porn that it’s automatically geared up to be hilarious. And whether it’s intentional or not (clearly I think it is) it doesn’t matter. The comedy in this movie is simply amazing.
If had to pick great comedic moments from the film, here are 6 worth sharing.
You got the Touch
Not only is the song funny but I argue that perhaps the funniest thing in the entire movie is watching John C Reilly dance in the background. I don’t think that move will ever be replicated in cinema. Funny how Reilly is now pretty much a comedic actor. I argue that Boogie Nights definitely got him started on that.
It’s My Big D*ck
Any time you hear Wahlberg complain or talk in a high voice it’s pretty funny. Couple that with him yelling about his penis and acting like the boss, it’s pretty amazing.
Feel My Heat
It doesn’t quite have the “You got the touch” magic in it but hearing Wahlberg wail and Reilly chime in is pretty classic.
I’m an Idiot
Has there every been a movie that Philip Seymour Hoffman wasn’t amazing in? The guy is definitely in my top ten for favorite actors. How many times does he actually say “I’m a f**kin idiot?” Anyone?
Han Solo
Again, this is John C Reilly at his finest.

if im not mistaken, youve got the touch was from the original animated transformers movie. yes, this was a great movie. i too believe this is what truly launched reilly. i also just wanted to say the dope deal gone wrong scene is one of my all time favorites of any movie. the anticipation and intensity of that scene were palpable. for anybody body that thinks walberg cant act, watch that scene and your opinion will be changed forever. matter of fact both the walbergs have become pretty good actors. granted they have to be given the correct roles but still this movie proves that marky mark is a thing of the past. as does blue bloods for that sorry assed group nkotb.
by the way you left out any scene where hoffman’s scotty is mentally sexing up wahlbergs diggler. the barely contained lust and overflowing angst is absolutely hilarious, made even moreso by digglers complete and utter cluelessness.
