I Guess Microsoft Employees Should Stop Using the Phrase “Fag Boy” at Work: XBox Designer Sues For Discrimination

From Dailymail in the UK
A gay video game designer who allegedly suffered homophobic abuse at work is suing Microsoft for £45,000 for ‘hurt feelings’ and lost pay.
Jamie Durrant, 38, says he was branded ‘Fag Boy Jim’ and there was a ‘homophobic attitude’ within the computing giant.
Mr Durrant, of Godalming, Surrey, who earns £50,000 a year designing video games for the Xbox 360 console, is suing Microsoft at a London employment tribunal for discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation.
Now I’m 100% behind Jamie Durrant in this scenario. One would expect a large corporation to have policies in place that would prevent this kind of abuse. And I’d think that at least one employee would have stepped up and reported the use of this language. But apparently not. Apparently this par for the Microsoft course.
On the funnier side however, I would love to see some kind of pleading ignorance tactic from Microsoft similar in nature to the George Costanza approach.
“Was that wrong? Should we not have done that? Because I gotta tell if you if we knew the phrase “fag boy” was frowned upon, we would have never hired Jamie in the first place.”
