When asked as a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I never said “Policeman” or “Fireman.”  In fact I actually recall always saying “I don’t know.”  I guess that’s why I majored in communication and wound up in miserable sales jobs for 8 years.  But I’ll bet when kids did say “fireman” or “policeman” they certainly don’t have visions like the picture above.

I doubt when a child dreams of upholding the law that means breaking up drunken high school parties and writing crappy parking tickets at the end of the month.  And I certainly doubt the visions are of holding underwear with doo doo stains on them.

But these are the realities of the profession.  Being a policeman or fireman isn’t what it’s cracked up to be as a child.  In fact, it’s pretty damned funny in many cases.
