Rapa Das Bestas: If There Are No Bull Fights, Just Wrestle Horses

The Spanish are crazy enough running from bulls in narrow streets every single year. And not only that, taking bulls on in the middle of an entire stadium (which by the way is the dumbest thing ever) is a bit insane. But apparently getting horn butted in the ass and stabbed in the cajones isn’t enough of a thrill for these people.
The Rapa das bestas is an ancient festival in Galicia, Spain. And by the title of this article, you guessed it: horse wrestling.
People gather all the untamed horses in a corral, where men and women of all ages wrestle them to the ground with their bare hands to cut their manes and tales out and brand them. This fiesta goes on for about three days starting the first Saturday of July.
Two things:
One: three days? Are you kidding me? And two: Doesn’t Rapa Das Bestas seem like it’d translate into “Rape of Beasts?”
