The Great San Francisco Pillow Fight of 2009
I’m not sure what you guys were doing on Valentine’s Day, but the folks of San Francisco packed it into Justin Herman Plaza to engage in a historic pillow fight.
What I find interesting is that the video above depicts a bunch of young guys with no women around them. Could this event really be an all out venting forum for those that realized they’d have no chance at getting laid that day?
I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment.

You can catch all of these photos here.
Oh and here’s some more great info:
The cost to the city was definitely a bit more than marginal; a number of police, park rangers and Department of Public Works employees were out on a Saturday — Valentine’s Day, no less — earning overtime. Cleaning up a Canadian province’s worth of goose down took the DPW more time and effort.
And yet, an alarming number of the participants actually bought their pillows new for the fight at $7 or more a pop.
Yup, this seems about right considering the state of our economy.
