I know the guy with the Weird Al tat you posted, and he’s not a nut job at all. Admittedly, he’s a huge fan (he also has Al’s band members tattooed on his legs) but you have to look at the tats in the context of Al’s relationship with his fan base. As in, Weird Al and Dave actually know each other. The tats are partly homage and partly a shared joke. Neither Al nor his manager nor his band members find Dave even slightly alarming. If they did, they wouldn’t keep giving him those aftershow passes. When Dave and his tats got a few minutes of TV fame, Al appeared on the show and turned the joke around by surprising Dave with a temporary portrait of Dave on his own arm. http://weirdal.com/images/rossitatonal.jpg
