By now I would imagine most of you have seen the show The Biggest Loser.  And each year the show makes changes that seem to capture the audience a bit more.  We’ve seen the couples edition.  And now they’ve added an extra team, colors for shirts, etc etc.

I think it’s great that they are keeping the audience captivated.  I personally believe that if they start bringing in celebrities to participate, then this show can really take it to the next level.  For the record I’m a tremendous advocate of the show and America’s fight against obesity.  It’s a bad problem and it bothers me to no end.

But before the big time celebrities, perhaps they can get some folks from the world of sport.  I am proposing a Biggest Loser Coaches Edition, and here are 7 candidates that would easily make the cut.

Tom Amstutz - University of Toledo

He’s a bit smaller than the rest of the pack so he’d have to get down to like 160 but come on buddy!  You can do it.

Charlie Weis - Notre Dame

Dude pull your pants up just a little more.  The guy wears “mom pants” if there’s even such a thing.   Are there diapers in there?

Mark Mangino -Kansas

I can’t even imagine how loud this guy must breathe and/or snore.   He would be the front runner if he could get any discipline.

Ralph Friedgen - Maryland

Clearly he’d be nicknamed “The Fridge” in this competition.

Andy Reid- Philadelphia Eagles

I’m sorry but his appearance is becoming borderline unacceptable.  The pants are just riding a little high these days.  Parcells wearing pants is worse but he’s no longer a coach.

Mike Holmgren - Seattle Seahawks

You have to admit it, Holmgren is getting a bit husky these days.  Though he might have to slim down to 140 to win.  That’s probably a bad idea.

Rick Majerus  - Saint Louis University

The guy has experienced a lot.  We’d need to keep a monitor on him.
