10 Music Videos With Solid Appearances from Well Known Actors

I tell you I haven’t watched a music video in a very long time. However, music videos can be truly fantastic from time to time. In fact being a solid music video director is a highly respected and highly compensated job (think of guys like Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry).
And once in a while you’ll get a taste of a little movie in one of these videos. One of the things that certainly sparks my attention while watching a video is when I can spot someone who is reasonably famous.
With that in mind, here are 10 classic videos that feature well known celebrities (some of them weren’t really well known at the time).
Christopher Walken in Fatboy Slim’s “Weapon of Choice”
Easily one of the most classic videos of all time. Obviously Walken is the man, but he took it to new heights in this video….literally.
Alicia Silverstone (Steven Dorf and Josh Holloway) in Aerosmith’s “Cryin”
Bet you guys didn’t know Lost hearthrob Holloway was the guy who tried to rob Silverstone in that video did you? Silverstone was so damned hot back then.
Courteney Cox in Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark”
You didn’t think I’d leave this one out did you?
Chevy Chase in Paul Simon’s “You can Call Me All.”
This was a very funny video and such a fun song. Watching the size differences was awesome. I really miss the funny Chevy Chase.
Keanu Reeves in Paul Adbul’s “Rush Rush”
A very poor James Dean impression but a solid video nonetheless.
Kim Basinger in Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”
She might have been a corpse in this video, but it’s still Kim Basinger
Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny Devito in Billy Ocean’s “When The Going Gets Tough”
Man I love this song. Billy Ocean is the man. I actually got to see him live last year. He’s the happiest guy on the planet.
Edward Furlong in Aerosmith’s “Living on the Edge”
This was definitely a messed up video, but a classic.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Stone Temple Pilot’s “Sour Girl”
Can someone explain this video? It’s a little creepy.
Johnny Depp in Tom Petty’s “Into the Great Wide Open”
Not only is this a great song, but this is one of my favorite music videos of all time. Depp is the man.
Honorable Mention: Bill Pullman was in a Pat Benetar video, Rebecca DeMornay was in the video “Sara,” and Nicole Kidman was in some Pat Wilson video in 1983
