13 People You Wouldn’t Have Realized That Appeared on “The Wonder Years”

First of all I just want to mention how amazing a show “The Wonder Years” was. To this day if there are any episodes lying around Nickelodeon or the ION network I end up taping them all.
It’s almost like I can feel like I’m in 6th-8th grade again. Personally I think the later episodes were way worse than the first 3 seasons, but the show was still good. It just happened to be better when Fred Savage was still a cute kid and not a gawky looking teen.
And who can ever forget Winnie? What a little angel huh? And isn’t Winnie Cooper such a perfect name for the girl you have a crush on in elementary school? My crush was Chrissy Corbisiero. That name sucks.
In any event, when you watch the shows again, it’s amazing how many stars appeared in episodes. Here are 13 that you probably wouldn’t have guessed.
Mark Paul Gosselaar - Episode, “Dance with Me”

Kevin asks Lisa Berlini to go to the dance with him. She agrees to go with Kevin, but when Brad Gaines asks her to go…oh boy!
And guess who played Brad? Zack Morris himself.
Breckin Meyer - Episode, “Heart of Darkness”

Kevin and Paul lie to their parents so they can spend a night of camping with a kid from their school who is anything but an angel.
Breckin is the rebellious kid. Now he’s just kind of a little guy.
Larenz Tate - Episode, “Loosiers”

When Kevin sees that Paul is being humiliated at basketball during physical education class, he decides he decides to go to Coach Cutlip to complain about how he thinks teams are being unfairly picked.
Larenz plays a team captain.
Dustin Diamond - Multiple Episodes

He didn’t really speak much in the show but he had a small role as a geek named Joey Harris.
Lindsay Price - Episode, “Walk Out”

Kevin along with kids from his school plan to schedule a walkout to protest the Vietnam War. However, when the assistant principal, Mr. Diperna, finds out about the planned walkout, he threatens to suspend all who participate.
Now a star on Lipstick Jungle, she played a girl named Lori in that episode.
Juliette Lewis - Small recurring role as Wayne’s Girlfriend in Season 3

She is one of the weirdest talking people in the world.
Soleil Moon Frye - Episode, “Growing Up”

With the end of the summer approaching, the Arnolds decide to attend Jack’s Labor Day work picnic. When it is learned that Jack was passed over for a promotion that goes to one of his rivals, tensions grow high between him and Kevin, who wants to prove that he is no longer a little kid
Frye played some girl named Mimi Detweiler. Currently she’s just known as the girl who played Punky Brewster and got a breast reduction.
David Schwimmer - Episode, “The House that Jack Built” (and a few other episodes)

The Arnold Family (minus Wayne) decides to head to Karen’s new residence after she reveals that she will not be living on campus this year and that the house is a real fixer-upper. What Jack thinks is going to be the next project for him and Kevin to tackle turns into something that rocks the very foundation of their family
Schwimmer played a guy named Michael. After that he went on to play the most annoying character of all time, Ross, on Friends.
Carla Gugino - Episode, “Triangle”

With a new girlfriend, Wayne actually becomes nicer and more likable. However, his new girlfriend seems to be more interested in Kevin.
You might see her now on Entourage as the scrappy agent Amanda. I love Gugino.
In that episode Gugino plays Sandy, the main chick.
James Caviezel - Episode, “Hero”

I remember this episode. Caviezel played a star basketball player. Very different from playing Jesus Christ.
Seth Green - Episodes, “Lunch Stories” and “Sex and Economics”

And now he’s Robot Chicken!
Giovanni Ribisi - Recurring episodes Season 6

He was in pretty much every episode that year as a friend of Kevin’s named Jeff Billings.
John Corbett - Episode, “Angel”

Kevin’s older sister Karen doesn’t communicate with her parents anymore, and it’s all because of her new boyfriend
And who played the boyfriend? You guess it. Mr. Sex and the City himself.
I would count Ben Stein but I think everyone knows he was on the show
