A Rich Tradition Turned Girls Gone Wildish: The Boryeong Mud Festival

From Wikipedia: The Boryeong Mud Festival is an annual festival which takes place during the summer in Boryeong, South Korea. The first Mud Festival was staged in 1998 and, by 2006, the festival attracted 1.5 million visitors to Boryeong.
The mud is dug up near Boryeong, trucked to the Daecheon beach area, and dumped at a ‘Mud Experience Land’. Most of the participants are foreign tourists, attracted by clever marketing .
Translation: A bunch of foreigners taking full advantage of any chance to get completely wasted, roll around in mud, squeeze some tits, and be able to tell their friends, “dude I just came back from Boryeong where I rolled around in mud, got drunk, and squeezed some tits.”
Isn’t that what you do at most any hippy concert? I don’t think you really need to travel thousands of miles for this. Regardless, there was definitely some funny business going on at this particular festival.
