Does Anyone Really Believe That OJ Mayo Didn’t Take Money?

OJ Mayo

According to the Associated Press, “The head of the sports agency representing O.J. Mayo denied any illegal activity involving the Southern California star on Monday, a day after ESPN reported Bill Duffy Associates gave cash to an event promoter who provided gifts.”

“ESPN reported Sunday that Mayo received about $30,000 and other benefits while in high school and during his lone season at USC

OK, is there any way that Mayo didn’t take any money? I mean how often in these reports do the players actually not take anything? Seriously. And don’t get me wrong. This is no disrespect to Mayo at all.

But come on! Not a cent? You just go through college living on a University stipend that allows you to buy diamond earrings and nice gear? Can we look realistically at these kids for a second?

Do I need to write a few pages explaining this or can we just agree that money is given to players ALL the time and these stories are becoming pretty useless.

Thanks for your time.
