No, they're not. Ignorant hillbillies have nothing in common with the Founding Fathers, nor are they the backbone of America (or great inventors, captains of industry, etc).
I'm not sure why you think that redneck who sells possum out of the back of his pickup "founded this country"--maybe the phrase "dropped out of school" or "failed at life" are actually the ones you were looking for instead?

I will change my opinion and agree with you when I start hearing that Goober Pyle founded America, but I don't really expect that to happen...</description>
